This is how you get to INSELHOTEL Potsdam
If you have a satelite navigation system handy, please enter
- “INSELHOTEL” as point of interest hotel (“Sonderziel Hotel”) or
- „Templiner Straße”
and follow the signs to the hotel.
The INSELHOTEL is located at a private street without name.
Coming from Hamburg, Hannover, Nürnberg by car:
Potsdam is to find via Autobahn Berliner Ring (A 10) – from Northeast via A11 (Prenzlau-Berlin), from Northwest via A24 (Hamburg-Berlin), from West via A2 (Hannover-Berlin), from Southwest via A9 (München-Berlin), from South via A13 (Dresden-Berlin) and from East via A12 (Frankfurt/Oder-Berlin).
Please take exit “Michendorf” and follow road B2 to Potsdam. After you have entered the city border (sign with “Potsdam” at the entrance) you should turn left at the first traffic light into Templiner Straße.
After ca. 500 m you will find a red bricks arch on the right hand side. Enter the entrance for cars at this wall to go to island Hermannswerder. Please go straight until the street splits into two directions (left and right). Please turn left here. After further 250 m you will find the hotel on the left hand side.
You may also take exit “Potsdam Nord” from the Autobahn A10 and take road B273 to “Potsdam-Zentrum”. From there head to Caputh to find your way within the city. Before exiting Potsdam city boarder you find the red bricks arch on the right hand side (see above).
Coming from Berlin by car:
On A115 go to Magdeburg/Hannover/München until you reach exit “Potsdam-Babelsberg”. You get to highway “Nuthe-Schnellstraße”. Take this highway until you get to exit (it also shows signs to go to Autobahn A 10 and Beelitz) and turn left into Friedrich-List-Straße. You will pass the main train station of Potsdam. At the next traffic light you turn right and get onto a bridge called “Lange Brücke”. After next traffic lights at a big intersection turn right and go a hill up to Brauhausberg and to Caputh. Follow the signs to Caputh from here. After you have gone up and down a hill turn right at the next traffic light. After 50 m another traffic light comes up. Turn left here into Templiner Straße.
After ca. 500 m you will find a red bricks arch on the right hand side. Enter the entrance for cars at this wall to go to island Hermannswerder. Please go straight until the street splits into two directions (left and right). Please turn left here. After further 250 m you will find the hotel on the left hand side.
Please be cautious! Police checks speed on the island frequently.
Coming by train
The main train station Potsdam is a central train stop. There is a S-Bahn connection from and to Berlin every 10 min. (S7). Regional Express trains also connect Potsdam and Berlin in both directions at least 2 times an hour during the day. Night schedule may differ.
From main train station Potsdam you can take a taxi (7 min.) or a Bus 694 to „Hermannswerder” / to „Küsselstraße” until you get to stop „Hoffbauer-Stiftung”. From here you walk 5 min. to get to INSELHOTEL Potsdam going West.

Coming by airplane
From airport Berlin-Schönefeld you may take Regional Express train R3 (going to Dessau Hauptbahnhof) to Potsdam main train station “Hauptbahnhof”.
From airport Berlin-Tegel: Take Express Bus X9 to Zoologischen Garten, change into S-Bahn S7 or Regional Express Trains to main train station of Potsdam.

Coming by boat
If you charter a boat or take a special trip organized by Weißen Flotte Potsdam to INSELHOTEL Potsdam you may park directly at the hotel.
