by car:

The Inselhotel is situated about 35 minutes away from the federal capital centre.
Coming from Hamburg, Hanover, Nürnberg:
Potsdam can de reached on the motorway Berliner Ring (A 10) – from the northeast on the A11 (Prenzlau-Berlin), from the northwest on the A24 (Hamburg-Berlin), from the west on the A2 (Hanover-Berlin), from the southwest on the A9 (Munich-Berlin), from the south on the A13 (Dresden-Berlin) and from the east on the A12 (Frankfurt/Oder-Berlin). Please exit the motorway at Michendorf and follow the B2 towards Potsdam. After reaching the city boundaries of Potsdam take the street diagonally to the right towards Caputh (Brauhausberg) and after about 150 m turn left into the Templiner Straße. After about 500 m on the right-hand-side you will see a red brick gateway. This gateway leads to the island Hermannswerder. Follow on straight ahead until the road divides into two. Turn off left. After a further 250 m you will see the hotel on the left bank of Lake Templin. Or you can exit the motorway at Potsdam Nord and follow the B273 towards Potsdam-Zentrum and further on towards Caputh.

Coming from Berlin:

take the motorway AVUS (A 115) towards Magdeburg/Hanover/Munich until exit Potsdam-Babelsberg. Now you are on the Nuthe-Schnellstrasse. Exit at Friedrich-List-Straße (towards A 10 and Beelitz) and turn left into the Friedrich-List–Strasse. Drive past the Potsdam Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) and turn off right into Lange Brücke. Turn right again at the next traffic lights into the Bundesstraße 2 and right again at the next set of traffic lights into the Templiner Straße. After about 500 m you will drive through a red brick gateway onto the island Hermannswerder.
IF you are using a satellite navigation system (GPS), enter „Templiner Straße“ and follow the signposts to the hotel (the INSELHOTEL is situated on an unnamed private road). Or you can enter under Motel/Hotel: IN(selhotel) and your destination will appear on the display as „Potsdam INSELHOTEL Hermannswerder“.

By train:

The main station at Potsdam (Hauptbahnhof) is a regular ICE (Inter City Express) station. There is a direct connection via S-Bahn to Berlin every 10 minutes (S7). Berlin-Wannsee (15 km from Potsdam Centre) is also an ICE station. You can reach us by cab from the main station Potsdam (Hauptbahnhof) in about seven minutes or by bus No. 693 in direction „Hermannswerder“ get off at bus stop „Hoffbauer-Stiftung“. From here it is a 4-minute’s walk to the INSELHOTEL.

By plane:

From the airport Berlin-Schönefeld take the train R3 (towards Dessau Hauptbahnhof) and get off at the main station Potsdam (Hauptbahnhof).
From the airport Berlin-Tempelhof: take the underground U6, change at Friedrichstraße to the train line (S-Bahn) S7 get off at the main station Potsdam (Hauptbahnhof).
From the airport Berlin-Tegel: there is an Express Bus X9 which takes you to Zoologischer Garten (Berlin Zoo), change onto the train line (S-Bahn) S7 get off at the main station Potsdam (Hauptbahnhof).

By steamboat or by ship:

As a special tour on a ship of the Weiße Flotte (the White Fleet) or a chartered boat.
